Sealed vaults

Crate storage

Your things sealed in wooden vaults that are loaded once and opened only at your new home. Useful when closing dates do not line up.

Pianos, art and heavy items

Upright pianos, safes, mirrors and framed art get custom crating or extra hands, priced in your estimate.

How a Maple Crate move works

Four steps, one crew lead, and no guesswork about the price on the day.

  1. 01

    Estimate

Enter your postal codes, home size and date. You see a sample range straight away, and a confirmed quote follows within one business day.

  2. 02

    Walkthrough

For larger homes, a 15-minute video call or in-person visit lists the heavy and awkward items, so the quote holds on moving day.

  3. 03

    Moving day

Floors protected, furniture wrapped and every box checked off the inventory as it is loaded and unloaded.

  4. 04

    Settle in

Beds assembled first, boxes placed by room label and packing paper taken away. Unpacking is there if you want it.

Moving in Toronto: the details we handle

The city has its own rules for moving day. We plan for them before the truck leaves the yard.

Condo elevators and insurance certificates

Most Toronto condos ask for a booked service elevator and a certificate of insurance before movers can come in. Send us your building's move rules and we sort out the paperwork with management.

Loading and parking

We check where the truck can stop before moving day. If a street needs a temporary parking permit, we tell you during the walkthrough so there are no surprises in the morning.

Winter moves

Snow and salt are part of moving here from December to March. Floor runners, door-frame guards and salted ramps come on every winter job.

The month-end rush

The last and first days of each month book up first, especially in summer. Booking three to four weeks ahead gives you the widest choice of start times.

FAQ

Moving questions, answered

Still unsure? Call (416) 555-0147 and a coordinator will talk it through.

How far ahead should I book a move in Toronto?

Three to four weeks is comfortable for most local moves. For the last week of the month, summer weekends or long-distance moves, book five to six weeks ahead. Short-notice moves are possible when a crew is free, so it is always worth asking.

Is the estimate a fixed price?

Local moves are billed by the hour, with a written estimate of the expected time. Long-distance moves get a fixed price based on your inventory, so the price only changes if the inventory changes.

What should I do before moving day?

Book your building's service elevator if you live in a condo, empty and defrost the fridge, and keep documents, keys, medication and valuables with you. We send a short checklist a week before your move.

Do you move on Sundays and holidays?

Yes, wherever your building allows it. Sunday and statutory holiday moves use a higher hourly rate, which is shown in your estimate before you book.
